President Prabowo Subianto made a grand entrance at Bundaran Hotel Indonesia (HI), Jakarta’s bustling city center, at the stroke of midnight on New Year’s Eve 2024. Dressed in a elegant cocoa batik shirt, he waved to thousands of cheering locals who had gathered to welcome the new year.

Accompanied by several ministers and officials, including Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Prasetyo Hadi and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono, President Prabowo was escorted by a tight security detail from the Presidential Security Office (Paspampres). The entourage walked towards the main stage, silhouetted against a dazzling display of fireworks and a mesmerizing drone light show that illuminated the night sky.

Bundaran HI was the epicenter of Jakarta’s New Year celebrations, with 12 entertainment stages set up around the city. The iconic traffic circle was transformed into a sea of humanity, creating an electric atmosphere filled with anticipation and camaraderie as 2025 approached.
