President Prabowo‘s Meeting with PM Anwar Ibrahim Still in Works; No Specific Date Yet
Jakarta – Minister of Secretary (Mensesneg) Prasetyo Hadi has revealed that the meeting between President Prabowo Subianto and Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, which was previously postponed, has yet to be rescheduled. Prasetyo shared that both leaders are currently trying to match their busy schedules.
"Nothing confirmed yet, still coordinating the timing," Prasetyo said at the Indonesia Arena GBK in Jakarta on Saturday, December 28, 2024.
Despite the lack of a specific date, Prasetyo assured that the meeting is slated to take place soon, with January 2025 being a possible timeframe. He stated, "It’s in progress. They plan to meet as soon as possible. There’s a chance it could be in January."
Earlier, Presidential Secretariat Major Teddy Indra Wijaya explained the reason behind President Prabowo’s delay in meeting with PM Anwar in Malaysia. He dismissed speculations that Prabowo was ill, stating, "No, that’s not accurate."
Upon his arrival in Jakarta, Prabowo immediately held a closed-door meeting with several ministers to discuss current situations, particularly those surrounding Christmas and New Year’s celebrations. Teddy confirmed Prabowo was in good health and emphasized that pressing needs in Jakarta necessitated his immediate return.
"A pressing matter in Jakarta required his prompt return," Teddy confirmed.
