Breaking: former BUMN minister urges investigation into alleged legal violations by PIK-2 developer
Former Secretary of the Ministry of SOEs, Muhammad Said Didu, has called on President RI Prabowo Subianto and Chief of the Indonesian National Police Jenderal Listyo Sigit Prabowo to look into alleged criminal offenses committed by the developer of PIK-2.
"I urge President @prabowo and Bk Kapolri @ListyoSigitP to closely examine the alleged criminal offenses by PIK-2 developers," Didu said via his personal X account on Thursday (9/1/2025).
Didu revealed that the alleged crimes committed by PIK 2 developers include the expropriation of state assets, land reclamation, intimidation, and criminalization of civilians to sell land and houses at low prices.
"Evidence shows acts of expropriation of state assets, land reclamation, intimidation, and criminalization of civilians for the sale of land and houses at low prices," he said.
Didu lamented the state’s apparent hesitancy to take action against the developers, asking, "Why is the state afraid to take action?"
Echoing these sentiments, Chairman of the PKS Faction Jazuli Juwaini also called for the suspension of PIK 2’s Spatial Plan (PSN) for comprehensive evaluation. He noted that, despite protests from residents, the PSN remains inconsistent with Regional Spatial Plans and Regulations (RTRW).
Out of the 1,755 hectares of PSN area, 1,500 hectares fall within protected forest zones. To date, there has been no application for RTRW changes from either the Banten provincial government or the relevant city/district governments.
"We believe there are fundamental issues with PIK 2’s PSN, as shown by various studies, including those by the Ministry of ATR/BPN. Given the widespread resistance from the community, the government must address this controversy, prioritizing public interest and adherence to regulations, particularly those concerning spatial planning and the environment," Juwaini stated.
