Ukraine‘s President Zelenksy: "More Words Than Help" From Western Partners Before Russian Invasion
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has revealed that prior to Russia’s large-scale invasion, he urged Western partners, particularly the United States, to take concrete actions to deter Moscow’s aggressive intentions. Speaking in an interview, Zelensky said he sought more than just verbal support, stressing the need for decisive action.
"Rather than asking for proof of Russia’s plans to invade, I asked for two things: Provide weapons to strengthen Ukraine, and above all, create the conditions to prevent war. Specifically, I asked them to impose sanctions," Zelensky said.
When asked if he felt Ukraine had received sufficient assistance, Zelensky replied firmly, "No, it’s a fact. We did not receive help. If we define words as help, then we received plenty of those—more than enough."
In the same interview, Zelensky expressed his hope that the elected U.S. President, Donald Trump, would visit Ukraine, stating that such a move would be symbolic.
