Antique Bronze Sculpture Worth 60,000 Pounds Stolen from Anne Curry‘s Home

A bronze sculpture titled "La Promesse" has been stolen from the home of renowned artist Anne Curry, leaving authorities in Essex, UK, on high alert. The theft, which occurred between December 5 and 6, has left the art community mourning the loss of this significant piece.

Measuring 1.57 meters (5.15 feet) in height, 1.25 meters (4.10 feet) in width, and 1.55 meters (5.09 feet) in length, the sculpture’s production cost is estimated at 20,000 pounds, with its market value pegged at around 60,000 pounds. Curry had intended the art piece, signed by the artist herself, to be placed in a canal or pond.

Essex Police, who are currently investigating the case, have revealed that no arrests have been made yet. Constable Glenn Symonds, leading the investigation, expressed the gravity of the incident, stating, "I cannot underestimate the impact this theft has had on the victim. We will explore all reasonable lines of investigation and urge anyone with information to come forward."

This isn’t the first time high-value items have been stolen from private residences in the UK. In late December, a thief made off with luxury watches and jewelry worth 10 million pounds from a London home.

Sources close to the investigation have notified that Curry, known for her distinctive bronze sculptures, is devastated by the theft and has been cooperative with police, providing valuable insights into the distinctive nature of the stolen piece. Art enthusiasts and the wider community are being urged to keep a lookout for any information that could help recover the stolen artwork.
