Title: Hong Kong Billionaire‘s London Mansion Raided for £36 Million in Jewels and Handbags
A Hong Kong billionaire‘s London mansion has been targeted in a brazen heist, leaving the owner counting losses worth over HK$36 million (approximately £3.6 million or US$4.9 million) in stolen jewels and luxury handbags. Thefts of such magnitude are rare, making this one of the most striking cases in recent years.
The lavish residence, located in one of London’s most coveted neighborhoods, was burglarized while the owner was away. The unidentified homeowner is now offering a substantial reward of HK$20 million (around £2 million or US$2.7 million) for information leading to the apprehension of the culprits.
Among the stolen items are an estimated £2.8 million ( HK$28 million or US$3.7 million) worth of jewelry, including rare and precious gemstones. The haul also includes several high-end Hermès Birkin handbags, valued at around £800,000 (HK$8 million or US$1 million) collectively, according to reports.
The victim is not the only one seeking justice. Another wealthy Hong Kong property owner in London recently saw their home invaded, losing over £43 million (HK$430 million or US$57 million) in jewelry and art. A reward of up to HK$2,000 million (around £200,000 or US$270,000) is being offered for information on the perpetrators of this equally audacious crime.
These incidents highlight a disturbing trend in daring daylight robberies targeting high-profile homes in London. Authorities are urging vigilance and enhanced security measures among wealthy residents, while promising to cracking down on organized crime networks suspected of orchestrating such crimes.
