Title: Three Ukrainians Rescued Alive After Getting Stranded inMarvelous Maramures
Three Ukrainian nationals who had been missing in the Romanian part of Maramures Mountains were finally found alive, thanks to a tireless search operation by local rescue services. This news was reported by Digi24 and later published by "European Truth".
The rescue operation, which lasted for nearly 36 hours, concluded triumphantly on 25th December, as the head of the mountain rescue service, Sabin Cornoiu, announced the discovery of the three Ukrainians. Unfortunately, one of them sustained several injuries due to a fall, while the other two experienced mild hypothermia. All three have been hospitalized for further medical care.
Cornoiu stated that the search area was expanded, and they intended to use a helicopter for an aerial survey. However, adverse weather conditions thwarted those plans, and the rescue team relied solely on terrestrial search methods. Their efforts were rewarded when they found the Ukrainians in a highly perilous gorge.
Furthermore, the authorities have initiated legal procedures to extend the stay of these citizens in Romania, although it’s unclear if this involves men of mobilizable age.
Earlier that day, the search operation was temporarily called off after 12 hours without any progress. This incident is another stark reminder of the challenging terrain in Maramures, where a 28-year-old Ukrainian was successfully rescued last month along with his cat.
The rescue of these three Ukrainians has highlighted the importance of prompt and coordinated search and rescue operations, as well as the harsh realities faced by those who venture into such treacherous territories.
