Breaking: Former Immigration Director Ronnie Sompie Questioned by KPK Over Alleged Corruption Case Involving Harun Masiku
In a significant turn of events, Irjen Pol (Purn) Ronny Sompie, the former Director General of Immigration, has been summoned for questioning by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in relation to data on immigration movements linked to the corruption case involving notorious fugitive, Harun Masiku. The questioning took place on Friday, January 3, 2025, in Jakarta.
At the time when the Harun Masiku case was unfolding, Sompie was serving as the Director General of Immigration. The summons is based on an investigation letter issued in the names of suspects Harun Masiku, Hasto Kristiyanto, and Donny Tri Istiqomah.
Tessa Mahardhika Sugiarto, the KPK’s spokesperson, revealed that investigators will continue to call in all parties believed to have information related to the case.
Ssompie, who has just been questioned, disclosed that he answered 22 questions posed by KPK investigators regarding the Harun Masiku case. However, he declined to elaborate on the specific topics covered during his interrogation.

Irjen Pol (Purn) Dr. Ronny Franky Sompie SH MH, a retired police general with two stars, was born on September 17, 1961, in Surabaya, East Java. His career in the Indonesian National Police began after graduating from the Police Academy (Akpol) in 1984. In the early stages of his career, Sompie served as the Chief of Police in Sidoarjo in 2003.
In 2005, he was transferred to become the Director of Criminal Investigation at the North Sumatra Regional Police. In 2009, Sompie was reassigned to East Java, serving as the Chief of Police for the Surabaya Metropolitan Police. His career also includes a stint in the Jakarta Metropolitan Region Police in 2009, where he served as the Deputy Operations Chief. A year later, he was transferred to become the Deputy Director for Resource Development and Capacity Building at the National Police Headquarters.
