Attention Ukrainian Pensioners: Update Your Data in 10 Days to Avoid Penalties

Pensioners in Ukraine have a tight deadline to keep their data up-to-date with the Pension Fund (PFU). Notifications about significant changes must be submitted within 10 days to avoid potential deductions from their pension.

The PFU’s press service has clarified that any inaccuracies in pensioners’ data may lead to oversized sums being subtracted from their pensions. This could happen if pensioners were getting additional payments they weren’t entitled to, such as special supplements for non-working pensioners.

Pensioners are obligated to inform the PFU of any changes as per Article 16 of Ukraine’s Law on Mandatory State Pension Insurance and the 25.11.2005, #22-1 resolution issued by the PFU Board. The changes in question are:

  • Obtaining a new Ukrainian ID-card (passport)
  • Getting a new passport due to loss or theft of the old one
  • Changes to last name or identification code
  • Changes to place of residence
  • Employment or unemployment status

Pensioners can submit their notifications either in person, at any PFU service center, or online through the PFU’s web portal for electronic services, with a qualified electronic signature (QES).

This reminder comes on the heels of PFU’s recent announcement of pension increases for Ukrainian citizens, effective January 2023. Staying current with your data ensures you receive the benefits you deserve.
