Revolutionizing Traffic Flow: Upgrades Planned for ‘Topli Dol’ and ‘Pravishte’ Tunnels on Hemus Motorway

Traffic Change Alert: New Rules Set for Hemus Motorway Tunnels

Motorists using the Hemus motorway can expect changes in traffic flow starting January 4th. The regional authorities and ‘Path Police’ have joined forces to implement these changes, aiming to ease congestion during peak hours.

The tunnels ‘Topline Dol’ and ‘Pravishki Hanove’ will now operate under a new traffic pattern. The Bulgarian Road Infrastructure Agency (API) has confirmed that these alterations are designed to optimize traffic flow and improve safety.

The changes will take effect between 6:30 AM and 10:00 AM, and again from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM, during which times traffic will alternate between the left and right tunnels. This switch in traffic direction will occur every hour. The new system will significantly reduce travel times and alleviate heavy traffic on the Hemus motorway.

"We understand that these changes may require some adjustment from drivers, but we’re confident that they will ultimately lead to a smoother and safer driving experience," a spokesperson for the API stated. "We encourage all motorists to familiarize themselves with the new traffic patterns and adhere to them for their own safety and the safety of others."

To facilitate the transition, variable message signs will be placed along the motorway to inform drivers about the changes. In addition, radio broadcasts will provide regular updates on the new traffic organization.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time for their journeys during these peak hours and stay informed about any further updates or alterations that could impact their travel plans.

For more information, please tune in to local radio broadcasts and check official highway management websites regularly. Stay safe and enjoy a smoother drive on the Hemus motorway.
