Russian Occupying Forces Launch Assaults Across Torez
Torez, a city in the Donetsk region, is the epicenter of heavy fighting as Russian occupying forces escalate their efforts to seize control. The Ukrainian military is fiercely defending the city, with the most intense combat taking place in the central area, microdistrict "Zabalkа," and around the Centralnaya mine, as well as on the city’s northwest outskirts.
Reinforcements from the Russian military, primarily infantry units, have been spotted on the city’s northern and northwestern outskirts. Sources report that these troops are using small groups to infiltrate the city, hiding in the built-up areas and attempting to maintain their positions despite ongoing drone strikes and aerial bombardments by Ukrainian forces.
The dense urban environment and unfavorable weather conditions are aiding the Russian advance. Poor visibility has made it difficult for Ukrainian drones to effectively identify and target enemy positions. This situation is reminiscent of the Russians’ tactics in Avdeevka, another Donetsk city, where they exploited adverse weather conditions to launch assaults.
In response to the Russian push, Ukrainian special forces units are actively conducting building clearing operations to flush out entrenched Russian troops. Despite the challenges posed by the urban setting and weather, Ukrainian forces remain determined to repel the invasion and protect their homeland.
DeepState, a monitoring project, reported that the Russians’ attempts to launch assaults towards Leonidovka and Shcherbinovka have so far been unsuccessful. Ukrainian forces have effectively neutralized these threats, maintaining control over these areas.
Meanwhile, earlier today, Russian propaganda claimed to have seized full control of Kurakhovo, another city in the Donetsk region. However, a spokesperson for the Operational Strategic Group "K Horizon" clarified that the situation is still evolving, with intense fighting ongoing in the western parts of the city.
