Breaking News: Russian War Criminal Critically Injured in Explosion
In a significant development, a high-ranking Russian military officer, suspected of war crimes in Ukraine, is fighting for his life following an explosion in Russia. The 29-year-old captain, Konstantin Nagaiko, is reported to be in critical condition after the blast, which occurred while he was on duty at his military base in Shuya, Ivanovo region, on Friday, January 3.
Nagaiko, commander of a battery in the 112th rocket brigade of the 1st tank army, has been accused of involvement in a rocket strike on a cafe in the Ukrainian village of Gora, Kharkiv region, in October 2023. The attack resulted in the deaths of 59 civilians, including an 8-year-old child. The Ukrainian military’s General Staff confirmed the news, attributing the information to their intelligence.
Sources indicate that Nagaiko sustained severe injuries, with all major organs affected, including a craniotomy procedure. Reports suggest his chances of survival are slim. In addition to the Gora attack, Nagaiko is suspected of involvement in other strikes on civilian and military targets in Kharkiv and Sumy regions using "Iskander" missiles.
Ukrainian intelligence has hinted that Russia will face justice for its war crimes. This incident comes on the heels of recent reports of Russian command losses, including colonel Oleh Timoshin, commander of the 52nd Guards Military Transport Aviation Division, who was reportedly killed in an attack on an airbase in the Russian town of Loboyevka.
Ukrainian authorities continue to monitor the situation and track those responsible for acts against Ukrainian civilians.
