Russian Forces Massing Near Velikayanear Vulchansk: Ukraine Warns of Potential Enemy Moves

Volчанск Front: Ukrainian Forces Defend City under Heavy Russian Assault

The Ukrainian military is holding its ground in Volchanśk, a city on the northern outskirts of Kharkiv Oblast, despite relentless shelling and attempts by Russian forces to reinforce their positions. According to an officer from the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ 57th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade, codenamed " Historik," the frontline in the region remains stable, despite the city being almost entirely flattened by Russian artillery, drones, and other weaponry.

Historik told reporters from Objectiv TV that while Ukrainian defenders face significant challenges on the battlefield, they are determined to hold their positions. "The defense of Volchanśk is strong," he emphasized. He also noted that Ukrainian forces maintain full control over Russian supply routes, preventing the enemy from effectively deploying armored vehicles.

Russian troops are now limited to moving small infantry groups towards the frontline, Historik revealed. This strategy, he explained, allows Ukrainian forces to wear down the enemy and disrupt their operations. When asked about potential Russian plans around Volchanśk and whether an escalation in fighting is imminent, he responded: "There’s no intensification of fighting here at the moment. This might be due to our ongoing operation in the Kursk region, which likely diverts Russian resources."

Earlier, Dialog.UA reported on a reconnaissance officer’s plan to liquidate Russian forces at the Agregatny plant in Volchanśk.
