Russian Troop Morale Plummets Amid Heavy Losses in Ukraine, Source Reports
Russian-controlled areas of Kherson are bracing for new offensives after recent failed attacks took a severe toll on personnel, a military source revealed Thursday.
Russian efforts to retake positions on the right bank of the Dnieper River ended in a disastrous assault that saw entire platoons fail to return, deeply shaking the confidence of soldiers involved, according to the Armed Forces of Ukraine’s Southern Operational Command (ASUF).
ASUF officials elaborated on the dire state of morale among Russian troops in the 70th Motorized Rifle Brigade, stating that the losses "seriously undermined" their resolve. This unit is deployed on the left bank of Kherson region.
However, it appears that Moscow is unwilling to acknowledge these heavy losses, opting instead to press on with more attacks, seemingly to scout for more suitable landing points for future operations. This decision indicates that Russia intends to persist in its campaign in southern Ukraine despite the setbacks.
