Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Series Launch and Pricing
The new line targets users who require a device for work, study, and creative tasks rather than casual media consumption. Both models include the S Pen in the box for note-taking, drawing, and precise screen movement, while Galaxy AI handles complex tasks within the tablet's working environment, as reported by redacti24.be. Samsung intends to use these AI functions to make complex tasks simpler directly within the workspace. Jay Kim, Executive Vice President and Head of Customer Experience Office of the Mobile eXperience (MX) Business at Samsung Electronics, stated the series is “designed for people who are constantly looking for new ideas, developing new skills and putting their ambitions into practice.” The Galaxy Tab S12+ carries a starting price of 1,299 euros in the Benelux for the 256GB storage and 12GB RAM configuration, while the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra begins at 1,539 euros, according to ITdaily. Depending on storage capacity, RAM, and 5G connectivity options, prices for the Ultra can climb to 2,289 euros.
Dimensions and battery life of Galaxy Tab S12 models
The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra measures 5.1 millimeters in thickness, matching the slim profile of the previous year’s S11 Ultra, and houses a 11,600 mAh battery rated for up to 23 hours of use, according to ITdaily. Samsung notes this makes it the thinnest Galaxy Tab produced to date. The Galaxy Tab S12+ is slightly thicker at 5.3 millimeters and features a 10,600 mAh battery that yields up to 21 hours of operation. Both tablets feature Dynamic AMOLED 2X displays with a 120 Hz refresh rate, a peak brightness of 1,600 nits, and an IP68 water and dust resistance rating. The Ultra model features a resolution of 2960 by 1848 pixels. Vision Booster now adjusts brightness in real time based on ambient light, and the S12+ features a larger screen with narrower bezels than its predecessor, according to ITdaily. Samsung equips both devices with the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor, an upgrade over the Dimensity 9400+ and 9300+ chips found in previous generations, as noted by ITdaily.
Software Integration and Update Commitments
The tablets run on Android 17 with One UI 9 out of the box and include seven generations of operating system upgrades and security updates from Samsung. ITdaily reports that Adobe Photoshop comes pre-installed on the new hardware for the first time on an Android tablet, featuring a tailored interface, S Pen support, and an AI Assistant powered by Adobe Firefly. Multi Window functionality allows users to split the screen into three sections to run applications like a lecture, Samsung Notes, and an AI assistant simultaneously. Note Assist is available to summarize notes. For storage expansion, the Ultra model supports microSD cards up to 2 TB, while spatial audio over four channels powers the audio output across both variants. This audio system provides twice as many channels as the previous generation, according to ITdaily.
