The 2025 World Series of Poker (WSOP) provided plenty of excitement, particularly for French poker enthusiasts. After the initial buzz surrounding Gaetan Balleur’s strong performance, the poker community eagerly anticipated the next big moment.
Yohan Rubes and Yohan Scratch came close, finishing ninth and tenth respectively in Event #13: $1,500 6-Handed No-Limit Hold’em. The search for another French final table appearance continued.
Event #17: $2,000 No-Limit Hold’em presented a new opportunity on June 5th. With 1,692 entrants, the competition was fierce. Among the remaining 19 players was French player Dubonnet Alone, who ultimately finished 11th, taking home $30,161.
BoujMala, however, had more success, making it to the final table, his second WSOP final table appearance after a sixth-place finish in a $3,000 6-max event in 2023. Unfortunately, his run ended early, finishing ninth and earning $38,369.
The battle for the win saw Scott Bohlman and Dusti Smith still competing on Day 3, pushing the event to a Day 4. The stakes were high, with Bohlman vying for his second bracelet and Smith aiming to become the first woman to win a WSOP bracelet since Vivian Saliba’s victory in 2024.
At the end of Day 3, Bohlman held the chip lead with 30,500,000 chips, against Smith’s 20,500,000.
