In the quiet, residential area of Vettre, Asker, a man dressed as Santa Claus has been causing anything but holiday cheer. Residents have been plagued by his unusual behavior, with the intruder ringing doorbells and disappearing, often leaving a trail of mischief in his wake. In some instances, he has been found relieving himself in people’s gardens, leaving homeowners bewildered and perturbed.
Operational leader Sven Martin Ege, of Asker’s police department, shared that the[”]s antics have even frightened children, with one instance involving only youngsters at home when the grimacing ‘Santa’ rang their bell. "The children found the encounter frightening," Ege recounts.
After receiving multiple complaints, a police patrol was sent to investigate on Friday. However, the mysterious intruder had vanished by the time they arrived, leaving no trace behind.
Ege stressed that the motive behind the man’s actions remains unknown, stating, "We don’t know the story behind why this individual is behaving in this manner, causing distress to these residents." The police are eager to identify and apprehend the man, urging anyone with information on the Santa-spooker’s whereabouts to come forward.
