Senior Police Officer and Wife Killed in Early Morning Collision
A senior police officer from the Kuantan District Police Headquarters (IPD) and his wife were killed in a vehicle collision early this morning at Kilometre 76 of Jalan Kuantan-Segamat.
According to Pekan District Police Chief, Superintendent Mohd Zaidi Mat Zin, the accident occurred at approximately 3 am under dark and rainy conditions. The victim, 50-year-old police inspector Syah Lokman Ludza Ramli, was driving a Proton Wira from Kuantan to Jempol, Negeri Sembilan, when the vehicle is believed to have lost control and skidded into the opposite lane.
The Proton Wira collided with a Honda City that was traveling from Gelang Patah, Johor, to Terengganu. Both Syah Lokman Ludza Ramli and his wife, Nurulfiza Ardiana Ambak, 46, were confirmed dead at the scene.
Multiple Injuries Reported
The collision resulted in six other victims sustaining injuries. The couple’s four children, aged 10, 13, 15, and 18, were all injured and are receiving treatment at Muadzam Shah Hospital. The injuries among the children include:

- A 10-year-old boy who suffered a broken left leg.
- Three other children who sustained minor injuries, including injuries to their waist and jaw.
The 26-year-old driver of the Honda City sustained minor injuries. However, his wife is currently receiving treatment in the emergency zone of Muadzam Shah Hospital. she is 22 weeks pregnant.
Significance and Investigation
This tragedy marks a devastating loss for the family involved, as the accident resulted in the deaths of both parents and significant injuries to all four of their children. The circumstances of the crash, specifically the loss of control during dark and rainy weather, highlight the extreme risks present on the road during such conditions.
The case is currently being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. As the investigation proceeds, authorities may provide further clarity on the exact cause of the Proton Wira entering the opposite lane. The medical recovery of the injured children and the pregnant passenger will likely remain a critical focus at Muadzam Shah Hospital.
