Innlandet Police have confirmed a serious traffic incident involving two cars and a truck on E16 in Røstetunnelen, Lunner, this Wednesday morning. The crash, occurring at around 11:17 AM, has left one person in critical condition.
"The situation initially appeared grave," reported the police in their first statement. Operations leader Ove Stian Ovrum later confirmed to Dagbladet that one individual had suffered critical injuries and was being airlifted to a nearby hospital. The two other people involved sustained minor injuries.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the drivers of one car and the truck were involved in a head-on collision, becoming trapped in the wreckage. A third vehicle was also reportedly involved, though its driver did not sustain any trapping injuries.
The Røstetunnelen has been promptly closed following the incident and is expected to remain shut down for an extended period. Authorities have advised all motorists to use the E6 as an alternative route until further notice.
