The July 13 Confrontation

Alyssa Lee Couture, 40, was arrested on July 13 in New Orleans and booked on a misdemeanor charge of stalking following a series of incidents involving actor Shia LaBeouf. The arrest occurred after LaBeouf confronted Couture in a parking lot, an interaction she recorded and posted to social media.

On the day of her arrest, LaBeouf approached Couture’s vehicle while she was parked near a bank where the actor was present with his girlfriend. In the viral video of the encounter, LaBeouf remains calm while speaking to Couture through her car window. “God bless you. Leave me alone,” LaBeouf says in the recording. “You’re scaring my dad. You’re scaring my people. Leave me alone.” According to reports, Couture had been pacing around her vehicle across the street from the bank while LaBeouf was inside. Following the interaction, police spoke with Couture and subsequently took her into custody.

History of Harassment and Unfounded Claims

Authorities had previously encountered Couture on June 30 after she traveled from New Hampshire to New Orleans. During police questioning at that time, she claimed to be married to the actor. Couture’s behavior escalated over the following weeks. On July 9, she reportedly appeared at the home of LaBeouf’s father, accusing him of hiding the actor’s “real body.” She alleged that the celebrity Shia LaBeouf was actually a “clone” created in a secret lab that contained both her and the actor’s DNA. Couture further claimed to have traveled to LaBeouf’s California home due to a belief that multiple women were committing sex acts on the clone, which she asserted made the actor angry. She also stated that she believed the clone was being sex trafficked and that the actor’s father was communicating with her through artificial intelligence. During the July 13 arrest, she allegedly told officers she was attempting to close a “demon portal.”

Social Media Activity and Background

Couture has maintained an Instagram account featuring over 5,000 posts, the majority of which are videos directly addressing LaBeouf. Many of these posts begin with the greeting, “Hi Shia,” and often refer to him as her husband. Her social media activity regarding the actor dates back to at least December 2025. In a GoFundMe page created in May 2026, Couture wrote that she had been living in her car and sought $70,000 for permanent housing. On that platform, she listed several health conditions, including schizophrenia, PTSD, heart disease, and scoliosis. She also described herself as a stroke victim with a traumatic brain injury.

Context of the Actor’s Recent Legal Troubles

The incident involving Couture is separate from LaBeouf’s ongoing legal proceedings in Louisiana. The actor, 39, who relocated to the state to be closer to family following his split from actor Mia Goth, has faced significant legal challenges throughout 2026. In February, LaBeouf was arrested in New Orleans during Mardi Gras and charged with two counts of simple battery following an altercation near a bar in the French Quarter. He was later issued a second warrant in connection with the same incident, resulting in an additional simple battery charge. A judge previously ordered the actor to begin substance abuse treatment and undergo weekly drug testing. In June 2026, LaBeouf pleaded guilty to three counts of simple battery.
