Sony Launches Transparent Prism Collection Accessories for PS5

Sony Launches Prism Collection with Transparent PS5 Accessories

Sony released a new collection of transparent accessories for the PlayStation 5 console on Thursday, October 29, 2026, featuring a see-through design that exposes internal components. tekno.kompas.com reported that the lineup, named the Prism Collection, includes both DualSense wireless controllers and console covers. The design draws inspiration from transparent electronics trends popular in the late 1990s, adapted with a modern aesthetic for current hardware.

High-gloss finish features three distinct colors and metal accents

The collection launches in three distinct colors: Flare Orange, Emerald Green, and Graphite Gray, all featuring a high-gloss finish combined with a metallic touch in the center for a premium look, according to tekno.kompas.com. Designer Satoshi Aoyagi noted in the official PlayStation blog that the bright orange creates a subtle reddish hue when translucent materials overlap, while the hunter green adds depth and the cool storm gray provides a neutral tone, as cited by Jawa Pos. On the DualSense controller, the transparent glossy finish is applied to the back of the stick to reveal internal technology and switches, while the console cover features a clear upper section that makes the internal cooling fan visible.

Sony prices controller and console cover for global markets

Sony priced the Prism Controller at $84.99 USD, while the matching console cover is set at $74.99 USD, as detailed by tekno.kompas.com. For the Indonesian market, Jagat Play reported official local pricing at Rp1,549,000 for the DualSense controller and Rp1,359,000 for the console cover. Sumeks noted that currency conversions from the US dollar rate put the figures around Rp1,54 million and Rp1,36 million respectively, though local retail prices may vary based on taxes, distribution costs, and exchange rate fluctuations.

Distribution methods also vary between the two items, as the DualSense controller will see a worldwide release, whereas the console covers will be available directly from PlayStation in certain places and through select retailers in other regions. In other regions, including Indonesia as noted by Jagat Play, the covers will arrive through chosen retailers in limited quantities.

Pre-orders open in November ahead of February release

Pre-orders for the Prism Collection open on November 10, 2026, at 7:00 PT / 10:00 ET directly through PlayStation’s direct store and participating retailers, with general retail sales scheduled to begin on February 4, 2027, according to tekno.kompas.com and Rakyat Pos. Both outlets confirmed that the release incorporates no internal specification upgrades or functional changes, meaning the transparent casing serves purely as an aesthetic update rather than a hardware revision.
