Breaking News: Sofia Public Transportation Talks Break Down, Potential Strike Looms
Negotiations between transport unions and Sofia’s public transport management for a new Collective Labor Agreement (CLA) have collapsed, BNR reports. The meeting, lasting over three hours, involved transport management and representatives from three major unions: the Transport Federation of KNSB, the Transport Syndicate Union in Bulgaria, and the Transport Workers Federation of KT "Support".
Iván Kirilov, chair of the Transport Workers Federation of KT "Support", confirmed, "No follow-up meeting has been scheduled." He further stated, "In effect, no negotiations took place. No texts were discussed, nor was a subsequent meeting scheduled. Colleagues from KNSB announced they might resort to actions according to the Law for Resolving Collective Labor Disputes, and a strike could be imminent."
The failure to reach an agreement has raised tensions, potentially impacting the city’s public transportation services.
