Breaking News: Suspects in Deadly Hague Blasts Remanded for 90 More Days

In a significant development, four suspects from Roosendaal, Oosterhout, and Rotterdam have been remanded in custody for an additional 90 days over the devastating explosions at Den Haag‘s Tarwekamp. This decision was made on Tuesday by the chamber of the Rechtbank in Den Haag.

The men, aged 23, 29, 33 (two of them), are believed to be behind the arson and explosions that claimed six lives and injured several others. The blasts caused multiple residential buildings above a bridal shop to collapse.

Among the suspects, Moshtag B., a 33-year-old Rotterdammer and alleged ex-partner of the bridal shop owner who was potentially the target, is believed to have orchestrated the attack. According to De Telegraaf, B. used an intermediary or ‘fixer’ to arrange the strike. This individual is reportedly suspect Adil from Oosterhout, who then allegedly hired the two Roosendaal men to carry out the explosions.

Six Lives Lost
The explosions on Tarwekamp occurred on Saturday, December 7th, around 6:15 AM. Many buildings collapsed, and others were severely damaged. The victims’ ages ranged from 17 to 63 years old.

Earlier Arrests in Oosterhout
Two of the suspects from Roosendal were arrested in Oosterhou before the Hague blasts. On December 1st, they were found in a delivery van late at night on a parking lot, in possession of 14 jerrycans filled with an unknown substance, heavy fireworks, torches, a fire extinguisher, and extra clothing—signs they were potentially preparing for the attack.

Omroep Brabant later linked these arrests to the explosions in Den Haag. The Public Prosecution Service has since confirmed that the two suspects are indeed the same individuals.
