Muscat Municipality to Discontinue Commercial Lease Contract Services

Muscat Municipality has announced the discontinuation of its commercial lease contract services through its online portal, effective from last Sunday. The services, which include registration, renewal, and modification of commercial lease agreements, will now be available on the Oman Business Platform.

This move is part of the municipality’s digital transformation initiative, aimed at streamlining business processes and enhancing user experience. By shifting these services to the Oman Business Platform, the municipality aims to reduce the burden on both tenants and landlords, eliminating the need for physical visits to municipality offices.

The new platform will facilitate the issuance of electronic certified leases, which will be recognized by judicial bodies and other relevant authorities. The municipality has emphasized the importance of registering lease agreements to protect the rights of both tenants and landlords, and to build a comprehensive database of residential and commercial properties in the country.

To register a lease agreement on the Oman Business Platform, users can fill out the electronic agreement form available on the platform.
