Russia Strikes Ukrainian Positions in Kursk Region; Heavy Losses Reported

Russian Aerospace Forces have launched a precision strike on a Ukrainian military outpost in the Kursk border region, as per the latest update from the Russian Ministry of Defense. The strike was carried out by a Su-34 fighter-bomber, highlighting Russia’s continued operational capability despite the ongoing conflict.

In a major setback for Ukraine, Russian forces have dealt significant blows to its formations, including heavy mechanized, tank, and several mechanicized and airborne units, along with territorial defense brigades and a special forces center. These engagements took place near several villages, including Alexandrovka, Bondarevka, Goncharovka, Dar’ino, Zaozhenka, Kolmakovo, Kurilovka, Leonidovka, Loknya, Malaya Loknya, Makhnovka, Melovoye, Mirny, Nizhniy Klyn, Nikolayevka-Daryina, Nikolevka, Novaya Sorochina, Staraя Sorochina, Sudja, Cherkasskoe Porozhnoe, and Yuzhniy.

Russian firepower, comprising operational-tactical and army aviation, along with artillery, targeted Ukrainian personnel and equipment in Sumy region, affecting areas around Viktorovka, Guevo, Zamost’e, Lebedevka, Lokinskaya, Martynovka, Mikhailovka, Russkoye Porozhnoe, Sverdlikovo, as well as Haasovka, Belovody, Vodolagi, Druzhba, Zhuravka, Mar’bekhina Buda, and Yunakovka.

Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian forces have suffered significant losses, with over 540 personnel killed, along with four tanks, a BMP, a BTR, 25 armored fighting vehicles, 49 vehicles, an artillery piece, and four mortars destroyed.

Cumulatively, since the commencement of operations in the Kursk direction, Ukrainian forces have sustained over 47,810 casualties, with significant equipment losses, including 267 tanks, 205 BMPs, 147 BTRs, 1,418 armored fighting vehicles, 1,370 vehicles, 341 artillery pieces, 42 MLRS and HIMARS systems, 14 anti-aircraft missile systems, seven specialized vehicles, 83 electronic warfare systems, 13 counter-battery radars, four air defense radars, and 28 engineering and other vehicles, including 13 mine clearance vehicles and one U.R-77 demining vehicle, seven armored recovery vehicles, and one command and staff vehicle.

This update underscores the ongoing character of the conflict, with Russian forces continuing to maintain a decisive edge in capabilities and casualties inflicted.
