Shoppers with Twitter and other social media platforms took a boycott of a Home Depot after the news that one of its founders will return Donald Trump to the second term in the White House.
In an interview with the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Bernie Marcus said that he intends to support Trump's re-election campaign, saying that while the president is “sucks” by communication, his influence on employment and aggressive situations is towards Chinese and Iran positive.
Many people appeared on Twitter who didn't.
"Well, @HomeDepot will not be getting any of my future home renovation dollars. All our appliances are getting into replacement age and the plans have kitchen and bathroom renovations. T
"Time has come to make a SHOP at Home Depot, 'other.
One Twitter user added a boycott call attached to Trump's administrative immigration policies and to split families at the southern border.
In a statement, the retailer said, "Bernie retired from The Home Home more than 15 years ago and is not speaking on behalf of the company. Indeed, as a matter of course, the company does not endorse Presidential candidates."
Although Marcus, 90, chairman of the Home Depot board is no longer, he told the AJC that some of his fortune is rooted in shares of the business he continues. It is worth $ 5.9 billion, according to Forbes.
The Democratic race for White House begins this week as 20 of the contestants will be working in the first series of primary debates this Wednesday and Thursday. (25 June)
