Palangka Raya, Kalimantan — In a ceremony led by Panglima Kodam Tanjungpura, Mayjen TNI Iwan Setiawan, Brigjen TNI Wimoko officially took the reins as the new Commander of Reserved Military District (Danrem) 102/Panju Panjung. The Linda Gading ceremony marked the handover from Brigjen TNI Iwan Rosandriyanto, who has been reassigned to Jakarta as a Staff Officer for the Chief of Staff of the Army (KSAD).

Wimoko’s appointment comes after a decorated career in the Indonesian Military (TNI), with a particular distinction in Kopassus (Special Forces). A 2000 alumnus of the Military Academy, he swiftly ascended the ranks, becoming a brigadier general — and the first of his graduating class to earn a star — in just 24 years of service.

The 46-year-old officer, known for his no-nonsense leadership style, gained national attention for his service as a Presidential Security Detail (Paspampres) commander. In 2018, he led Detachment 2, Group A of Paspampres, and in 2023, he was reassigned to head the entire Group A, succeeding Brigjen TNI Faisol Izuddin Karimi.

"Danrem 102 marks a new chapter for Brigjen TNI Wimoko," said Mayjen TNI Iwan Setiawan in a statement released by VIVA Military. "His wealth of experience and proven leadership will be key in maintaining the security and stability of Kalimantan."

Wimoko is the first one-star general to lead Korem 102 since its redesignation as a type A reserve district in 2020. His tenure is expected to bring a fresh perspective and renewed energy to the region.
