Breaking News: North Korean Defector Surfaces in Russia

In a surprising turn of events, a formerNorth Korean military official, Gyoung Hong Jongg, has revealed that he has left his home country and is now residing in the Russian Federation (RF). In a personal notebook found among his effects, Jongg penned a birthday greeting to his Army comrade Song Ji Myong, wishing him good health.

"Having left my homeland and now residing in Russia, I extend my warmest birthday wishes to my dearest friend and Army brother, Song Ji Myong (Yong), wishing him robust health," Jongg wrote in the notebook, dated December 9, 2024.

This is the first decoded entry from the captured notebook, with others still being translated, according to the commanding forces.

The Curious Case of the Kurgan Region

The revelation comes on the heels of South Korean intelligence reports indicating that North Korea (DPRK) is planning to send more troops to Russia, accompanied by additional military hardware, including kamikaze drones.

In late October, Ukraine‘s military intelligence noted that approximately 12,000 North Korean soldiers had already been redeployed to Russia. This development, coupled with Jongg’s defection, raises questions about the growing military alliance between Pyongyang and Moscow.

As this complex situation unfolds, we will continue to monitor and report on any further developments. Stay tuned for more updates.

Headline: North Korean Casualties in Kursk Exceed 3,000: Zelensky Warns of Global Threat

President Vladimir Zelensky has revealed that preliminary estimates suggest over 3,000 North Korean soldiers have been killed or wounded in the Kursk region. The president shared this news following a meeting of the Supreme Military Command Staff.

"Currently, we’re seeing over 3,000 North Korean military casualties in Kursk," said Zelensky, who noted the potential deployment of additional troops and equipment from North Korea to bolster Russian forces. He emphasized that this development heightens regional instability and represents a significant global threat.

Zelensky underscored that the transfer of modern warfare expertise and military technologies from Russia has serious ramifications beyond the Ukraine conflict. "This is a global challenge that must be acknowledged," he stated.

This announcement comes on the heels of a South Korean lawmaker’s report on December 19, which claimed that around 100 North Korean soldiers had been killed, and approximately 1,000 injured while fighting alongside Russian forces in Kursk. Furthermore, the Pentagon has predicted escalating losses among North Korean troops in the region.

Increase in casualties coincides with indications that North Korea is preparing to deploy additional forces and military hardware, possibly including kamikaze drones, to aid Russia’s war efforts against Ukraine.

Zelensky’s stark warning sheds light on the mounting human cost of North Korea’s involvement in the conflict and the geopolitical risks it poses. As the situation evolves, the world watches with a keen eye on these unfolding developments.

Destroyed North Korean Soldiers in Kursk Had Fake Documents – Special Services

Headline: North Korean Soldiers’ Fake Documents Exposed in Russia: SSSO

Article:

In a significant disclosure, the Special Forces Operations (SSO) unit has confirmed the elimination of three North Korean soldiers in the Kursk region, allegedly using forged documents. The revelation sheds light on Russia’s attempts to conceal its military losses and foreign presence, particularly involving North Korean troops.

According to the SSO, the soldiers, identified as Ban Guk Dжин, Li De Hyeok, and Cho Chol Ho, were using falsified identification papers. These documents, bearing Russian stamps, lacked proper authentication, including required stamps, photographs, and родства. Notably, the soldiers’ native place was recorded as the Republic of Tyva, a region in Siberia, rather than North Korea.

The documents, suspiciously, featured names that seemed to have been Russified: Kим Кан Солат Альбертавич, Донгнк Джан Суропович, and Белек Аганак Кап-оолович. Yet, signatures remained in Korean, undermining any attempt at genuine Russian-issued documents.

The SSO released images of the discovered documents, further corroborating their claims. "This episode underscores Russia’s desperation to obscure its battlefield losses and the influx of foreign soldiers into its ranks," a spokesperson for the SSO stated.

This isn’t the first instance of Russia’s involvement with North Korean soldiers on Ukrainian soil. Previously, social media reports hinted at the presence of North Korean troops, though Moscow has denied these claims. The latest revelation, however, adds weight to the notion that Russia might be employing foreign military personnel to bolster its forces in the ongoing conflict.
