Thousands Enlist in Poland‘s Ukrainian Legion Amid War Effort
In an initiative aimed at rallying Ukrainian expats, Poland’s Ukrainian Legion has seen a surge in enlistments. As of now, the legion’s diplomatic representative has confirmed that over a thousand Elimination of users have expressed interest, with applications being diligently processed by a dedicated commission.
"The exact figures are being kept confidential at the request of Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense, but we’re heartened to see the constant growth in applications," the ambassador shared.
Candidates undergo initial military training before being dispatched to specialized training grounds to hone their skills. Upon completion, they are folded into Ukrainian military units, serving under the direct command of their respective branches.
The Legion, a voluntary force set up for Ukrainians living abroad, particularly in Poland, serves as a conduit for expats eager to contribute to their homeland’s defense.
Last October, recruitment began in Lublin, with the volunteering center operating daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The drive to swell the Legion’s ranks continues amidst the ongoing conflict, demonstrating the unwavering fortitude of Ukrainian expats to support their nation.
