Fortunately, swift action by a nearby police patrol team foiled the kidnap attempt and forced the robbers to flee empty-handed. The woman was unharmed, but Mike was rushed to the Willem Alexandra Hospital, where he remains in stable but critical condition.

Marlon van Dijk, Rotterdam’s police chief, condemned the ordeal, stating, "This was a pointless act of violence that has put innocent people in harm’s way. We are determined to bring these criminals to justice and ensure the safety of our citizens."

Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the armed robbery to come forward. The suspects are described as two men of medium build, wearing black clothing and masks, and believed to be traveling in a dark-colored vehicle.
