There were only four left. Liverpool FC still needs so many victories to become champions in England again after 30 years. Against the relegation candidate West Ham, Jürgen Klopp’s team also needs a bit of luck.

DLiverpool FC is getting closer to the first football championship in 30 years. The team of coach Jürgen Klopp won the Premier League game against West Ham United on Monday evening 3-2 (1-1) despite a shortfall. A maximum of four wins from eleven games are still missing. Against the relegation candidate, Georginio Wijnaldum met in the 9th minute, Mo Salah (68.) and Sadio Mané (81.). Issa Diop (12th) and Pablo Fornals (54th) had scored the goals for the guest from London.

The sovereign leader of the English Premier League extended the lead over second place in the table to Manchester City with 22 points. It was the 18th league win in a row. Liverpool has been unbeaten in the league for 43 games in all seasons. Most recently, Liverpool left league points with arch rival Manchester United on October 20th. The last defeat was on January 3, 2019 (1-2 at Manchester City).

Liverpool dominated the game against West Ham from the start, but used the ball too rarely. In addition, the favorite left the guests too much space on the counter in the first half. After the header from Wijnaldum the guest quickly struck back after a corner by Diop.

Even after the break, Klopp’s team was superior. The Spaniard Fornals, however, used a carelessness in the cover of the favorite and scored directly. Liverpool increased the pressure and equalized after a mistake by guest keeper Lukasz Fabianski by Salah. Mané finally made the decision in a strong final sprint with his goal.
