PDI Perjuangan Marks 52nd Anniversary with Megawati Leading Celebrations

In a solemn yet celebration-filled atmosphere, Indonesia’s PDI Perjuangan party celebrated its 52nd anniversary today. The party’s Chairperson, Megawati Soekarnoputri, led the commemorations, joined by senior party figures such as Prananda Prabowo and Puan Maharani.

The event took place at the party’s School, in Jakarta‘s Lenteng Agung, Jakarta Selatan, on Friday (10/1/2025). Megawati was seen actively participating, even giving the first slice of the commemorative cake to Sidarto Danusubroto, a senior party figure and former member of the Presidential Advisory Council during Joko Widodo’s presidency.

Notable figures in attendance also included renowned artist Butet Kartaredjasa, who received the second cake slice, and Yudiant Wirasundara, the head of PDI-P’s Organization Department (Badan Pelaksana Penerangan dan Informasi Partai PDI-P). The event was marked by joy, camaraderie, and reflection on the party’s history.

In her speech, Megawati expressed her confident optimism about the party’s prospects, claiming that PDIP remains an unbeatable force in Indonesian politics. She pointed to the party’s strong performances in recent gubernatorial elections, even in challenging scenarios such as the one in Jakarta, where PDIP faced off against a large coalition with relatively few allies.

Megawati attributed PDIP’s resilience to its grassroots strength and the party’s commitment to honest, principled politics. She dismissed suggestions that external influences could sway the party’s fortunes, stating, "PDI Perjuangan is like aSilat master who can’t be defeated by scripted challenges."

The party’s lion, a symbol of strength and courage, stood tall as a reminder of PDIP’s unwavering resolve to continue serving the Indonesian people, especially the less fortunate, marking another successful chapter in the party’s long history.

MP from PDI Perjuangan, Rieke Diah Pitaloka, Facing Ethics Probe Over PPN Hike Remarks

Parliament’s Ethics Body Receives Complaint Amid PPI 12% Increase Controversy

Article:

A member of Indonesia’s House of Representatives (DPR) from the PDI Perjuangan faction, Rieke Diah Pitaloka, is being investigated by the Mahkamah Kehormatan Dewan (MKD) following a complaint regarding her statements calling for the postponement of the planned 12% increase in the Value Added Tax (PPN). The MKD confirmed receiving the complaint, which alleges a potential ethics violation.

Dek Gam, the MKD’s chairman, verified the existence of the complaint. "Yes, the report is there. It’s true, I’ve signed the letter, and there’s no letter without a report. Yes, there is a report," he told reporters.

A summon letter circulating online reveals that the MKD received a complaint accusing Rieke of violation of parliamentary ethics codes due to her public statements that appeared to incite dissent against the PPN hike.

The MKD has scheduled Rieke’s officially summon for Monday, December 30, at the MKD’s conference room. However, the hearing has been postponed due to the ongoing recess, as many DPR members remain in their respective districts.

Previously, Rieke publicly opposed the planned PPN increase during a plenary session. "I propose in this plenary session that we support President Prabowo’s plan to postpone, or even scrap, the 12% PPN hike," she said during an unexpected intervention.

Stay informed as we continue to monitor this developing story. (yoa/pta)

Man from Magelang Receives Smallest Compensation for Land Acquired by Jogja-Bawen Toll Road Project

Article:

A resident of Magelang, Mulyanto (68), has received the smallest amount of compensation among landowners affected by the Jogja-Bawen Toll Road project. Despite owning a plots measuring 1,100 square meters, only a minuscule 0.3 square meters was acquired for the toll road construction. Mulyanto received his compensation directly at Karangkajen Village Hall on Tuesday, December 24, 2024.

"I attended the socialization of compensation distribution earlier," Mulyanto recalled. "At that time, I didn’t think my land would be affected. I was surprised to find out only a small part of it was taken, just 30 centimeters."

The affected area, which measures a mere 30 centimeters by 10 meters, is part of Mulyanto’s paddy field. He described it as a narrow strip that extends along the edge of his land. "It’s just a small corner of my rice field," he said with a smile.

Mulyanto, a grandfather of three, received a compensation of IDR 254,000 for his affected land. When asked about his plans for the money, he laughed and said, "I’ll use it to buy snacks for my grandchildren. Even though the amount is small, it’s still a blessing."

Land Details and Impact

detikJateng visited Mulyanto’s land in Dusun Karangtalun, Desa Karangkajen, Kecamatan Secang, Magelang. The affected area is located along the alternative road from Magelang City to Grabag, Kabupaten Magelang, passing through the Pancuranmas area.

The land, affected by the toll road Project’s right-of-way (PSN), is situated at the edge of Mulyanto’s rice field. Previously planted with corn, the land is now being prepared for paddy transplantation.

Not the First Case

Head of Magelang Regency’s National Land Agency (BPN), A. Yani, stated that they have been making compensation payments for 78 land plots in Desa Karangkajen this year. The smallest affected area measured only 0.3 square meters.

While this is not the first case of a small affected area, Yani mentioned that they have previously encountered a case where the affected land was less than 1 square meter. "Karangkajen has over 300 land plots, and 78 of them met the criteria and were submitted for compensation this year," Yani said.

He also mentioned that among the recipients, one person had three plots affected, measuring 7, 4, and 4 square meters each. However, the smallest affected area recognized in this latest round of payments is only 0.3 square meters.

"We have detected and processed even the smallest affected areas, ensuring that no losses go unnoticed," Yani concluded.

Article:

In a turn of events that has since gone viral, a Puncak, Bogor-based tour guide, identified by his initials CN or ‘Bokep‘, was apprehended after overcharging a tourist by a staggering Rp 850,000. The incident, which took place in the popular tourist destination along the Puncak_CAPs, has sparked outrage among netizens and led to the guide’s immediate arrest.

The drama unfolded when a female motorist engaged Bokep’s services for navigation assistance, but a heated argument ensued when he demanded an exorbitant fee. The unsuspecting tourist had agreed to an initial price, only to be shocked by the steep increase once they reached their destination. In a video that has since circulated on TikTok, the irate tourist can be seen confronting Bokep, who initially tried to dodge responsibility.

"’You can’t do that,’ said the motorist, ‘We agreed on a price at the start,’" the woman is heard saying in the clip. Bokep attempted to justify his actions, claiming that the increased price was for helping beyond the main road, but the motorist was having none of it.

"’You didn’t mention that at the beginning,’ she shot back, ‘"I only have Rp 150,000, and I’ve been driving around for two hours. If it’s going to be Rp 850,000, I might as well drive myself," she concluded, clearly exasperated.

The tourist’s video quickly gained traction, ultimately leading to Bokep’s arrest. Upon his capture, the disgraced tour guide issued a tearful apology for his actions.

Following Bokep’s capture, Kapolsek Megamendung AKP Dedi Hermawan confirmed the incident and assured the public that the personnel involved were being dealt with accordingly.

In a statement, Korporal Edi Santosa of Polsek Cisarua acknowledged the seriousness of the matter. "We’re currently investigating the incident to ensure such occurrences do not recur, thereby maintaining the safety and satisfaction of all tourists visiting the Puncak region."

The police have since released Bokep on the condition that he reports regularly. Despite the victim’s forgiveness, the police are continuing their investigation, aiming to maintain the safety and enjoyment of tourists in the area.
