In a turn of events that has since gone viral, a Puncak, Bogor-based tour guide, identified by his initials CN or ‘Bokep‘, was apprehended after overcharging a tourist by a staggering Rp 850,000. The incident, which took place in the popular tourist destination along the Puncak_CAPs, has sparked outrage among netizens and led to the guide’s immediate arrest.
The drama unfolded when a female motorist engaged Bokep’s services for navigation assistance, but a heated argument ensued when he demanded an exorbitant fee. The unsuspecting tourist had agreed to an initial price, only to be shocked by the steep increase once they reached their destination. In a video that has since circulated on TikTok, the irate tourist can be seen confronting Bokep, who initially tried to dodge responsibility.
"’You can’t do that,’ said the motorist, ‘We agreed on a price at the start,’" the woman is heard saying in the clip. Bokep attempted to justify his actions, claiming that the increased price was for helping beyond the main road, but the motorist was having none of it.
"’You didn’t mention that at the beginning,’ she shot back, ‘"I only have Rp 150,000, and I’ve been driving around for two hours. If it’s going to be Rp 850,000, I might as well drive myself," she concluded, clearly exasperated.
The tourist’s video quickly gained traction, ultimately leading to Bokep’s arrest. Upon his capture, the disgraced tour guide issued a tearful apology for his actions.
Following Bokep’s capture, Kapolsek Megamendung AKP Dedi Hermawan confirmed the incident and assured the public that the personnel involved were being dealt with accordingly.
In a statement, Korporal Edi Santosa of Polsek Cisarua acknowledged the seriousness of the matter. "We’re currently investigating the incident to ensure such occurrences do not recur, thereby maintaining the safety and satisfaction of all tourists visiting the Puncak region."
The police have since released Bokep on the condition that he reports regularly. Despite the victim’s forgiveness, the police are continuing their investigation, aiming to maintain the safety and enjoyment of tourists in the area.
