City Installs Security Grilles at Cavina Gym Amid Rising Thefts

by Chief Editor December 28, 2024
written by Chief Editor

Title:افحةِığı-garde security measures bolstered at Cavina Gym

In an effort to deter repeated break-ins, the local municipality has approved the installation of anti-intrusion grilles at Cavina Gym, a popular spot for athletic activities but a tempting target for vandals at night. The installation, set to be carried out by Area Blu, comes with a budget of €2,000, aimed at securing the windows of the changing rooms facing the disabled parking area.

This initiative is part of a broader security effort by the municipality to protect Cavina Gym, which has been grappling with persistent break-ins. Way back in 2017, the administration of that time approved the installation of surveillance cameras to monitor the structure’s accesses. The installations aimed at enhancing the safety of the facility, which serves various schools, institutions, and local sports teams.

In an earlier bid to curb unauthorized access, the municipality removed vending machines dispensing snacks and beverages in 2015. The move was a clear signal of the administration’s commitment to safeguarding the public spaces at Cavina Gym, which have faced frequent nighttime intrusions.

As Cavina Gym continues to be a hub for sports and recreational activities, these security measures are a welcome step towards protecting the facility and its users, ensuring they can enjoy their activities in a safe and secure environment.

Mercuriali Community Gym to Reopen in 2025: €630,000 Investment

by Chief Editor December 24, 2024
written by Chief Editor

Title: Forlì’s Mercuriali Gymnastics Hall to Reopen in 2025 after Allusion Recovery Project

Forlì’s devastated communal gymnastics hall, Mercuriali, is set to fully resume operations by 2025. The Via Isonzo 54 facility, managed by ASD Ginnastica Forlì and used by local clubs Edera Forlì, Forti e Liberi Forlì, Polisportiva Cava Ginnastica, and Gymnica 96, faced severe damage during the 2023 flooding. However, a comprehensive restoration project, valued at €630,000, has been approved, and work is due to commence in January.

The project, funded through €330,000 from the hall’s insurance and a €300,000 donation by Cia-Conad, entails refurbishing the damaged structure. This includes reusing undamaged gym equipment and relocating items already present at Forlì’s Fiera. Additional materials, new balance beams, and floor exercise platforms for artistic gymnastics and rhythmic gymnastics will also be installed. Moreover, the parachute pit damaged by the Montone River overflow will be reinstated securely.

Vittorio Cicognani, Forlì’s assessor for public works, commended Cia-Conad for turning tragedy into opportunity. "With their contribution, we’ve transformed a disaster into an opportunity to revitalize a crucial facility for Forlì and its youth," he stated. The hall, expected to reopen in 2025, will be a boon to the community and nearby neighborhoods.

Kevin Bravi, Forlì’s sports assessor, reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to investing in such structures, making them more advanced and accessible to individuals with disabilities. Meanwhile, the four gymnastics clubs have temporarily moved to a dedicated space within the Fiera, which will be expanded to accommodate more users.

Cia-Conad’s donation is part of their broader initiative, "Supporting Emilia-Romagna," assisting seven public facility recovery projects in the aftermath of the disastrous flooding. "We are proud to have contributed to this vital project," said Luca Panzavolta, Cia-Conad’s chief executive officer.

Gian Luca Zattini, Forlì’s mayor, expressed gratitude for Cia-Conad’s support and emphasized the hall’s importance as a gymnastics hub and social gathering spot. "Thanks to this project, we’ll restore a state-of-the-art facility, fostering sports and social interaction in our community," he concluded.

**"Uninhabitable Showers, Dirty and Cold Gym: Gymnastics Strike at Cassinari"

Headline: Piacenza Students Stage Gym Class Strike Over Squalid School Facilities

Subheading: Students at Liceo Cassinari protest poor conditions in school’s off-site gym, demanding better from local authorities.

Byline: [Your Name], [Publication’s Name]

Article:

In a growing trend of student activism in Piacenza, students from the Liceo Cassinari have organized a unique protest to highlight the deplorable conditions of one of their off-site gyms. The students, led by their representatives, have decided to boycott their gym class in the affected building come January 7, their first day back from holiday.

The issue at the heart of the matter? A dilapidated gym and inadequate changing and toilet facilities. "It’s filthy, covered in cobwebs, and often freezing," one student representative told Libertà. "The changing rooms and toilets are barely usable. We’ve had enough."

The Liceo Cassinari, like most Italian high schools, lacks sufficient space for physical education classes. As a result, students are often shuttled to external gyms. In this case, one of the designated gyms is owned by a private sports club that leases it to the province at no cost. The province, in turn, is responsible for managing all high school facilities and has alternated the Cassinari and the Polisportivo in using the gym.

This latest student protest is part of an escalating series of protests from Piacenza high schools, with students frustrated by the lack of resources and attention given to their learning environments. They hope that their collective action will finally push local authorities to address the issue.

School administrators and local officials have been approached for comment, but no statement has been issued as of yet.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.

Delivering Promises: New Gym Marks Turning Point for San Severino’s ICTS Divini

by Chief Editor December 13, 2024
written by Chief Editor

The proverb “If you want to arrive first, walk alone; if you want to arrive far, walk together” was embodied by Guido Castelli, the extraordinary commissioner, who attended the festivities for the delivery of the new gymnasium of the Istituto Tecnico Tecnologico Divini in San Severino. After eight years of bureaucratic struggles, another piece has fallen into place. Castelli acknowledged that keeping promises was a priority and that a solution had been found with the company that was compatible with public administration needs. He recalled that two million euros were needed for the gymnasium alone and stressed the importance of collaboration between the commissarial structure, the province, the commune, and the region in completing this task. Among the attendees were the prefect Isabella Fusiello, the regional president Francesco Acquaroli, the regional assessor Filippo Saltamartini, the provincial president Sandro Parcaroli, and various mayors of the territory. Parcaroli urged students to study all subjects, particularly languages, as he believed this institute was crucial to their future. Mayor Rosa Piermattei expressed her pride and emotion at the accomplishment, highlighting the importance of the coordination between institutions and the resilience shown in overcoming difficulties. Governor Acquaroli encouraged the youth to believe in the future of their territories and to contribute to the region’s revival.

Title: Guido Castelli Inaugurates New Gym Facility at IIS Divini in San Severino

San Severino Marche, Italy – In a significant milestone for the IIS Divini school in San Severino Marche, local authorities and officials gathered to inaugurate the newly constructed gym facility. The event was graced by the presence of Guido Castelli, the Mayor of San Severino Marche, who officiated the proceedings.

The new gym, a long-awaited addition to the school, was commissioned to enhance the physical education and extracurricular activities for the students. It is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, designed to cater to a variety of sports and physical activities, fostering a healthy and active lifestyle among the students.

Mayor Guido Castelli expressed his delight at the inauguration, "This new gym is a testament to our commitment to provide our youngsters with the best possible facilities for their growth and development. We believe in the power of sports to instill discipline, teamwork, and resilience in our youth."

The IIS Divini, a prestigious institution in the region, has always been committed to providing a holistic education to its students. The new gym facility is expected to further strengthen this commitment by providing a space that encourages physical fitness and team spirit.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the school’s staff, students, and parents, who all expressed their excitement and gratitude for the new facility. The gym is now open for use, and the school has scheduled a series of inaugural events and tournaments to mark the occasion.
