Headline: Banten Police Mutates Cinangka Station Chief Amid Rental Car Shooting Investigation

Subhead: Three officers, including the station chief, reassigned as probe into boss’s killing continues

Article:

In a significant development in the investigation into the fatal shooting of a rental car company boss, the Banten Police have announced the mutation of three officers from Cinangka Police Station, including its chief. The move comes as authorities probe allegations of unprofessional conduct by the officers in handling the initial report.

The Banten Police confirmed the mutations in a telecommunication, with the officers reassigned to the Banten Police Headquarters for further investigation. The reassigned officers are:

  1. AKP Asep Iwan, the former Cinangka Police Station Chief, now reassigned to the Banten Police Headquarters.
  2. Brigadir Deri Andriani, reassigned to the Banten Police Headquarters.
  3. Bripka Dedi Irwanto, also reassigned to the Banten Police Headquarters.

The mutations were approved by AKBP Kemas Indra Natanegara, the Cilegon Police Chief, and are part of the ongoing investigation into the fatal shooting incident on the Tangerang-Merak Toll Road’s Rest Area at Km 45.

Earlier, Banten Police Chief Irjen Suyudi Ario Seto revealed that the initial report was made by Agam Muhammad and Samsul, accompanied by a total of five people. The group was received by Brigadir Deri Andriani and Bripka Dedi Purwanto at Cinangka Police Station. However, a communication breakdown led to the officers requesting additional documents, including a leasing agreement, despite the victims providing necessary documents such as the BPKBP, STNK, and a spare key.

The police chief emphasized that the officers should have provided accompaniment to the victims but failed to do so, and did not request additional backup from the police headquarters or the criminal investigation unit.

The investigation into the fatal shooting continues, with the Banten Police committed to ensuring justice and maintaining public trust in the institution.

Fatal Rental Car Shooting: TNI AL Vows Transparency as Boss and 3 Members in Hot Seat

Subhead:
BIODIVERSITAS.COM, JAKARTA – The boss of a car rental service was fatally shot in cold blood at a toll rest area, with three members of the Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) now under investigation.

The Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) reassured the public that they will not cover up any wrongdoing in the fatal shooting of a car rental boss at a toll rest area. They maintain the principle of ‘innocent until proven guilty’ and have pledged full transparency in the investigation.

Four suspects have been named in connection with the case, two of whom have been apprehended while the others remain at large. Intriguingly, three of these suspects are members of the TNI AL, adding complexity to the case.

The incident occurred when the car rental boss attempted to retrieve a stolen Honda Brio from the suspects. The victim had tracked the vehicle’s location using GPS, leading him to the rest area where the suspects were attempting to sell the car. A confrontation ensued, which culminated in a fatal shooting.

TNI AL commander, Laksamana Madya Denih Hendrata, conveyed the Force’s commitment to fair process, ensuring that no wrongdoing will go unpunished. The three naval members involved have been promptly taken into custody and are cooperating with the investigation.

Kapolda Banten, Irjen Suyudi Ario Seto, detailed the events leading up to the shooting. The ordeal began when one of the suspects, Ajat Supriatna, alias ‘AS’, rented the car but subsequently defrauded the owner. He sold the car to another suspect, IH, who then sold it to RH, ultimately ending up in the hands of a TNI AL serviceman named AA.

The car’s GPS, however, remained active, allowing the rental boss to track the stolen vehicle. He traced it to the rest area, where a quarrel broke out, leading to the fatal shooting. The victim, along with another person who tried to intervene, were both shot. The other person, a 59-year-old, survived the attack with injuries.

The Navy has been swift in their response, asserting that they will take stern action against any wrongdoing members. The public can expect a thorough and transparent investigation into this matter. The case continues to be investigated.

Inspector Reveals the Origin Story Behind a Deadly Shooting Following a Car Rental Dispute

by Chief Editor January 6, 2025
written by Chief Editor

Title: Banten Police Explain Origins of Shooting Incident That Killed Car Rental Boss on Tol Tangerang-Merak

In a press conference at the Koarmabar headquarters in Jakarta, Banten Police Chief Irjen Suyudi Ario Seto revealed that the shooting incident that claimed the life of a car rental boss on the Tangerang-Merak toll road began with the rental of a Honda Brio. The incident, which is being investigated under Article 378 of the Criminal Code (KUHP), was initially reported as a possible case of vehicle theft.

On 2 January 2025, Agam Muhammad Nasrudin, a resident of Taman Rajeg, reported the suspected theft of a Honda Brio from a rental shop in Rajeg. The vehicle, a Honda Brio in orange with the license plate B-2669-KZO, was rented by a resident of Pandeglang with the initials AS.

However, the rented car was later handed over to an individual with the initials IH, who also prepared fake KTP and KK cards in the name of AS. Subsequently, the car was sold to RH for IDR 23 million, who then sold it to a Navy officer with the initials SY. The car changed hands once more, being sold to AA, another Navy officer, for IDR 40 million.

Currently, four officers from Cinangka Police Station, including the head of the station, are being investigated by the Cilegon Regional Police over reports from the victim’s family.

In a separate statement, Navy Chief Laksdya TNI Denih Hendrata confirmed that three Navy personnel are involved in the incident. The personnel, initially reported to have been beaten at the toll road rest area, are now suspected to be connected to the shooting incident.

Navy Chief Denih also revealed that the incident stemmed from a dispute over the sale of a car, involving multiple transactions and fake documents. The Navy is cooperating with the Banten Police to investigate the case.

Meanwhile, police have arrested Ajat Supriatna and another individual in connection with the alleged theft of the rental car. They have been named suspects in the case. The investigation has identified two clusters of perpetrators: one involved in the car theft, and another connected to the shooting of the rental boss.
