PDIP Official in Soroti Implicated, KPK: Room for Discussion

PDIP Denies Involvement of Hasto Kristiyanto in Harun Masiku Bribery Case, KPK Stands by Evidence

In a recent development, the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) has vehemently denied any involvement of its Secretary General, Hasto Kristiyanto, in the Harun Masiku bribery case. The party asserts that there is no concrete evidence linking Kristiyanto to the case, echoing sentiments shared by party officials during a press conference held after Kristiyanto was named a suspect in the case.

The party’s stance was echoed by Tessa Mahardhika, the spokesperson for the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), who acknowledged the Party’s opinion but maintained that the commission’s stance is firm and based on strong evidence. Mahardhika stated, "KPK appreciates all opinions and criticisms, but we will not engage in political discourse. In the realm of law, we have robust evidence."

Meanwhile, PDIP’S Secretary General, Ronny Talapessy, reinforced the party’s position, stating, "The bribery case against Harun Masiku has been finalized in court and is legally binding. All convicts have already served their sentences, including those involved in the case."

Talapessy also highlighted that after evaluating all evidence presented during the trials, from the Court of Corruption to the cassation level, no concrete evidence linked Hasto Kristiyanto to the case. He emphasized, "No evidence has been presented to tie our party’s Secretary General to the Wahyu Setiawan bribery case or the Harun Masiku case that has already been settled."

In response to PDIP’s claims, KPK has stuck to its stance, insisting that it has substantial evidence to support its case against Kristiyanto. The commission has further invited all parties to wait for the upcoming trial to evaluate the strength of the evidence presented.

This developing story underscores the intricate interaction between politics and law in Indonesia, where high-ranking officials are often under public scrutiny. As the trial progresses, Indonesian citizens eagerly await further developments in this case.

Solo Chief of PDIP‘s DPC, FX Hadi Rudyatmo, Reacts to News of Hasto Kristiyanto’s Appointment as KPK Suspect

Solo – The recent announcement by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) of naming PDIP General Secretary Hasto Kristiyanto as a suspect has sparked reactions, including fromSolo Democratic Party’s PDIP (Democratic Party of Struggle) Chief of Regional Leadership Board, FX Hadi Rudyatmo, also known as FX Rudy.

FX Rudy, when approached at his Pucang Sawit residence in Jebres, Solo on Tuesday (December 25, 2024), expressed his surprise at the news. "I haven’t received any official notification about him being a suspect or anything else. However, I can ensure that PDI Perjuangan members are compliant with the law," he asserted.

Rudy admitted that he had only learnt about the Suspect Appointment Letter (SPRINDIK) through social media, as he had not been officially informed of the matter. He emphasized that the party’s legal bureau had the authority to handle such cases, and expressed hope that PDIP’s Supreme Chairman would intervene.

Despite being unaware of the details, the former Solo mayor maintained that the party would follow legal procedures and respect the state’s laws. "PDI Perjuangan will always obey the law," he declared resolutely. "We won’t interfere with law enforcement agencies," he added.

Regarding the overall impact on party members, Rudy reassured that they would maintain unity. He stressed that following the law should be the collective priority, echoing the theme of compliance already emphasized by KPK.

hasto Kristiyanto’s suspicion stems from allegations of bribery linked to an election dispute with Harun Masiku. Earlier reports from detikNews cited KPK officials confirming Hasto’s status as a suspect in the investigation. The SPINDIK that appointed Hasto as a suspect, numbered Sprin.Dik/153/DIK.00/01/12/2024 and dated December 23, 2024, was issued post-examination and after the inaugural speech of KPK’s newly appointed leaders led by the head, who took his oath before the President, Prabowo Subianto, on December 20, 2024.

PDIP Secretary-General, Hasto Kristiyanto, Detained in Connection with Harun Masiku Case

KPK Names PDIP Secretary-General Hasto Kristiyanto as Suspect in Bribery Case

In a significant development, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has named Secretary-General of the Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP), Hasto Kristiyanto, as a suspect in a bribery case. The development comes after the swearing-in of KPK’s new leadership headed by Chairman Muhammad Syafrudin earlier this month.

According to a detikcom source, the KPK’s Letter of Investigation (Sprindik) against Hasto, numbered Sprin.Dik/153/DIK.00/01/12/2024, was issued on December 23, 2024. Hasto’s designation as a suspect follows an exam on December 20, 2024.

Hasto is accused of bribing Wahyu Setiawan, a former commissioner of the General Elections Commission (KPU), in a bid to secure a seat in the People’s Representative Council (DPR) for PDIP candidate Harun Masiku through an interim period (PAW). Masiku, who is already a suspect in the same case, remains at large. Other suspects include Agustiani Tio, a trustee of Wahyu, and Saeful Bahri, a private citizen.

Wahyu and Agustiani have previously been sentenced to seven and four years in prison, respectively, while Saeful received an eight-month prison sentence. They were found to have received SGD 19,000 and 38,350 (around IDR 600 million) from Masiku through Saeful to facilitate his DPR appointment.

KPK has been trying to locate Masiku since August, and has also questioned Hasto regarding Masiku’s case earlier this year.

In a related development, PDIP spokesman Chico Hakim has accused political parties of attempting to disrupt and undermine PDIP’s influence. He contends that there is political interference in the legal process.

"KPK’s investigation against Hasto is evidence of political maneuvering to discredit PDIP. This isn’t the first instance of similar moves against other political parties," Chico told media outlets. He added that PDIP is steadfast in facing these challenges, viewing them as a source of energy and determination.

Hasto’s designation as a suspect remains a developing story, with PDIP yet to provide a formal response.

**" Not Blaming Pak Prabowo: A Clarification"

by Chief Editor December 23, 2024
written by Chief Editor

인은 및 inconscient, ex parte mark, or assignor estoppel could arise from such a situation. Here are some suggestions on how to protect your invention:

  1. Keep Detailed Records:
Maintain thorough documentation of your invention’s development, including dates, iterations, and any related correspondence. This can help validate your claims and establish priority in case of disputes.

  2. Use Confidentiality Agreements:
Before disclosing your invention to anyone, such as manufacturers or investors, have them sign a confidentiality or non-disclosure agreement. This legally binds them to keep your invention secret.

  3. file Patent Applications Early:
File patent applications as soon as possible. In many countries, including the U.S., the first to file, not the first to invent, is granted the patent. So, even if you’ve kept detailed records, someone else could beat you to the patent office.

  4. Be Cautious with Public Disclosure:
Be aware that public disclosure of your invention before filing a patent application can bar you from obtaining patent protection in many countries. This includes public use, sale, or disclosure of your invention.

  5. Consider Trade Secret Protection:
While patents offer limited-term protection, trade secrets can protect your invention indefinitely, as long as you keep it secret. Consider whether your invention can be kept as a trade secret instead of, or in addition to, pursuing a patent.

  6. Stay Updated with Relevant Laws:
Intellectual property laws vary by country. Keep yourself updated with the laws in the countries where you might seek protection for your invention.

  7. Seek Professional Help:
Consider consulting with a patent attorney or agent. They specialize in intellectual property law and can provide advice tailored to your situation and jurisdiction.

By taking these steps, you can better protect your invention and ensure that you, not someone else or the public, benefit from your hard work and creativity.
