Utrecht Braces for Icy Spell: Preventive Salting Starts Tonight
Utrecht, get ready for a chilly night ahead. The municipality has announced that it will begin preventive salting at 7 PM tonight, working in partnership with local contractors. This measure is aimed at keeping surfaces safe from potential iciness, in response to the Code Yellow weather alert issued by the Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute (KNMI).
The alert, in effect from 4 AM to 10 AM tomorrow morning, covers provinces Utrecht, Groningen, Drenthe, Overijssel, Gelderland, Noord-Brabant, and Limburg. Residents in these areas should brace for potential local slipperiness due to the freezing of wet road sections.
