New Routes and Regional Frequency Increases
The carrier will launch its new Bangkok-Danang route on December 1, operating 14 return flights per week, according to company announcements. Thai Airways is also increasing Bangkok-Vientiane and Bangkok-Yangon services to 21 flights per week, while the Bangkok-Siem Reap service will run seven times weekly. In addition, the Bangkok-Xiamen route will return with four flights per week.
Seoul and Taipei move to daily or better, while Hong Kong and Beijing/Shanghai maintain daily service.
Long-Haul Expansion in Europe and Australia
Long-haul services form a core pillar of the winter timetable, featuring 15 routes serving Europe and Australia alongside 43 Asian routes and eight domestic paths, according to Travel and Tour World. Thai Airways will operate seven weekly flights to Amsterdam, 10 to Munich, 11 to Zurich, and 14 to Paris. The Bangkok-Paris service doubles from seven to 14 weekly flights starting December 1, while Munich rises to 10 weekly flights on December 16 and Zurich increases to 11 weekly services on January 16, 2027.
Copenhagen, Stockholm, Oslo, and Zurich are retained as daily or near-daily operations. For Australia, the schedule includes seven weekly flights to Perth alongside 14 weekly services to Melbourne and Sydney.
Fleet Renewal and Strategy
Thai Airways stated that it adjusted its business strategy to remain flexible amid global uncertainty while maintaining financial stability. The company reported a net profit of 1.537 billion baht in the second quarter. To support its network ambitions, the airline is expanding and simplifying its fleet, with plans to eventually reduce its aircraft types to four while retiring older models in favor of newer-generation aircraft.
The carrier currently operates nine Airbus A321neo aircraft, a figure expected to climb to 15 by the end of 2026 and eventually reach 32. For long-haul operations, Thai Airways plans to deploy the Boeing 787 as part of its wider fleet renewal program. Concurrently, the airline is upgrading its onboard products, including entertainment systems and food and beverage offerings.
