Ukraine‘s Defense Holds Steady in Cuirassovo as Russian Forces Aim to ‘Wipe Out’ Every House
Russian occupation forces are relentlessly targeting residential buildings in Cuirassovo, a city in the Donetsk region of eastern Ukraine. Ukrainian defenders, however, maintain a stronghold in the western part of the city.
"Russian forces are attempting to destroy every single house, even those that are only one or two stories tall," said Major Victor Treгубов, spokesperson for the Operational-Strategic Group "Hortitsia," during a national telethon. "When a city is completely destroyed, there’s nowhere left to defend. Any house can serve as a defensive position, but if there are no houses left, only scorched earth, defense becomes impossible."
The situation in Cuirassovo is indeed dire, with a significant portion of the city reduced to rubble. Ukrainian forces are holding their ground on the city’s western outskirts, including the strategic power plant located within the city limits.
Despite the heavy destruction, Ukrainian troops continue to inflict losses on Russian forces, targeting their personnel and equipment, and hindering their advance. The resilience shown by Ukrainian defenders in Cuirassovo underscores the nation’s unyielding determination to protect its territory and people from Russian aggression.
