The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition is currently available on Steam for $3.99, reduced 90 percent from its original $39.99 price tag, techworld.hu reported. The discounted bundle, which runs through October 8, includes the base open-world fantasy role-playing game alongside its three major official expansions.
Steam Discount Drops Special Edition to 1,300 Forints
The price cut lowers the cost of the Bethesda role-playing title from roughly 13,000 forints to about 1,300 forints, depending on daily currency exchange rates and the store’s specific pricing models. Released originally in 2011, the title casts players as the Dragonborn within the expansive, open province of Skyrim. The gameplay permits users to ignore the primary narrative thread entirely, choosing instead to undertake side quests, gather equipment, and explore uncharted territories across the terrain. User reviews on Steam rate the project with Nagyon pozitív
feedback backed by over 131,000 positive ratings.
Special Edition Bundles Three Major Expansions
Unlike the standard 2011 release, the Special Edition features technical and visual enhancements alongside built-in DLC content. The package includes the Dawnguard expansion, which introduces vampires and vampire hunters; Hearthfire, which adds home construction and customization mechanics; and Dragonborn, which opens up new lands, quests, and storyline elements. The PC version also supports Bethesda Creations, a platform granting access to further community and official gameplay modifications.
Sixty Million Copies Sold Over a Decade
Bethesda sales data shows that the franchise has moved more than 60 million copies globally since its debut over a decade ago. While critics praised the title’s world design, player freedom, and character progression upon its initial launch, early versions faced negative feedback regarding combat mechanics and technical instability. The Special Edition aims to address part of those issues through modern graphic enhancements and updated technical infrastructure.
