In a grim update to Friday’s drone strike on the Kiev region, a young woman who was injured in the attack has passed away. The victim, identified as Diana Arzamazova, was wounded after falling debris struck her in the abdomen. Doctors fought tirelessly to save her but were unable to do so.
The tragedy occurred during a Russian drone assault on the area that saw multiple ‘kamikaze’ drones, also known as ‘loitering munitions,’ targeting the capital and its outskirts. The strike resulted in at least one fatality and four injuries. Among the injured, another man, aged 69, remains in critical condition in the ICU after suffering a spine injury. Medics are monitoring a third victim, a young man with a leg wound.
Despite the ongoing conflict, regional authorities informed that Ukraine’s air defenses intercepted several incoming drones, with debris falling in open, uninhabited areas away from populated towns.
Facebook sources later confirmed Diana Arzamazova as the victim and expressed their deepest condolences to her family and friends.
Earlier on Friday, security forces reported that the Russia-led attack on Ukraine continued overnight with more drone strikes targeting the Kiev region. Air defenses remained active, targeting and eliminating multiple threats.
