Step: After a dish stage, it's Dutch Mike Teunissen who wins in the sprint. He is only 15 centimeters taller than Peter Sagan and becomes the first yellow jersey of the 2019 Tour. More information here
Tour de France 2019: Eddy Merckx's Brussels
The Tour de France started from Brussels, home town of Eddy Merckx. A tribute to the five-time winner of the Tour, which is paired with the centenary of the yellow jersey. For the occasion, the Belgian capital is adorned with yellow and paid tribute to his hero.
2) Sunday 7 July: Brussels <- > Brussels (27.6 km)
Step: Often feared, the event against the team time trial is one of the essential steps of the Great Loop. It is the Jumbo-Visma formation and its yellow jersey Mike Teunissen that prevail. The latter keeps his yellow jersey.

Second day of competition in Belgium. Team time trial in the streets of Brussels. An opportunity to look at the unique relationship between Belgians and the Little Queen.
3) Monday, July 8th: Binche <-> Epernay (215 Km)
Step: Cocorico! It is the Frenchman Julian Alaphilippe who imposes himself. 15 kilometers from the finish, he broke into the peloton to cross the finish line alone. Unsuccessful with more than 25 seconds ahead of the rest of the riders that makes him the new yellow jersey of the Tour. He is the first Frenchman since 2014 to take the precious tunic.
