The lovers of the two wheels have an appointment in Piloña, where the Spanish Enduro Championship takes place for the first time on June 8 and 9. The event, organized by the newly created "Motor Club Piloña", will bring together one hundred and fifty of the best national pilots of the specialty, which is characterized by facing large slopes and obstacles, such as trunks. The highlight of the program arrives on the 8th (Saturday), when the forty most advanced junior contestants will make an extreme nocturnal scoring exhibition in the neighborhood of Xudes, starting at 8:00 p.m.
On Sunday the starting point will be the Town Hall Square (9.00 am) and within the 41-kilometer route there will be three scoring stops for the clock: in La Peridiella, Campu Casín and Xudes. The forecast is for each driver to go three laps and to spend about two hours on each pass. Pilots of the stature of Josep García, considered the fastest of Enduro at present, Enric Francisco or the local contestant Julio Pando, third in the general classification will compete in the Piloñesa race. In the presentation of the event, which took place yesterday in Infiesto participated, among others, Luis Molina, president of the Federation of Motorcycling of the Principality of Asturias, which highlighted "the spectacular environment" in which the test is developed and "the great effort "made by the Piloñés club presided by Alfredo Pando to take it forward.
