Breaking: Explosions Rock Sumy as Ukraine’s Air Force Warns of Aerial Threats
Sumy, Ukraine – Explosions have been reported in Sumy, marking the latest in a series of aerial threats and attacks in eastern Ukraine. The incidents were confirmed by 24 Kanal, citing Suspilne Sumy.
Initial Explosions and Warnings
The explosions were first reported at 8:31 AM local time, with residents hearing loud blasts. Earlier, at 7:16 AM, the Ukrainian Air Force had warned of aircraft launching precision-guided bombs in the Sumy region. About 30 minutes later, an additional threat was announced for Poltava, Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions, indicating possible ballistic missile strikes.
Subsequent Explosions and Aerial Activity
In another alert at around 8:00 AM, the Air Force confirmed repeat strikes by tactical aviation in the Sumy region. Later, at 10:15 AM, enemy tactical aviation activity was observed in the southeast, and shortly after, at 10:33 AM, more explosions echoed in Sumy.
This was followed by a third round of explosions in Sumy at 12:13 PM, with the Air Force warning earlier of an incoming strike aircraft heading towards the city. Later in the afternoon, at 1:23 PM, the Sumy Regional State Administration confirmed that Russian forces continued to attack the region using attack drones, with local air defense forces engaging in combat.
Around 3:50 PM, further explosions were heard in Sumy. The Air Force had earlier warned of chaotic drone movements in the region’s skies.
