Breaking: Teen’s Vaping Death in Pleven Linked to Marijuana Compound
The shocking incident occurred last night around 21:00, taking the life of a 14-year-old boy in Pleven. The regional prosecutor, Vladimir Nikolov, revealed today that the teenager had been vaping a substance containing a marijuana derivative.
OffNews.bg has learned that preliminary results from the autopsy indicate the presence of delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the psychoactive compound found in marijuana, in the vape pen used by the boy and his friends. The sale of vaping devices to minors is strictly prohibited in Bulgaria.
Investigators are currently tracing the origin of the vape pen, which was purchased in the capital, Sofia. It is believed that several children had access to the device before the accident.
The tragedy unfolded when one of the youths leaning out of the window to puff on the vape pen slipped and fell from the high-rise building. The child was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident has raised concerns about the accessibility of vape pens containing illicit substances to minors. Authorities urge parents to be aware of their children’s activities and to talk openly about the dangers of vaping and drug use.
