Ice-Covered Roads Culprit in Devastating Crash on Fv72 in Verdal; Seven Injured
A harrowing incident on Saturday morning left seven individuals nursing injuries after two vehicles collided on County Road 72 in Verdal. Paramedics swiftly transported a young girl to the hospital for examination following the crash, local news outlet Adressa reports.
The incident occurred amidst a county-wide dietroscene of icy roads, with police attributing the accident to treacherous conditions. News of the crash comes as Statens vegvesen (Public Roads Administration) received a deluge of reports about slippery roads across Trøndelag, particularly in Fosen, Verdal, and many parts of Trondheim.
"We’re witnessing very challenging conditions in major parts of Trøndelag," says Kristin Ekren of Statens vegvesen, who added that Fjellseterveien in Trondheim was particularly hazardous. "We’ve just alerted our snow removal team," Ekren commented.
As wintry conditions persist, motorists are urged to exercise extreme caution and adhere to safe driving practices. If you’ve encountered icy roads or have been affected by recent weather conditions, we’d love to hear from you. Please share your experiences with Dagbladet at [email protected].
