TikTok has closed its Nashville office in the Moore Building on 19th Avenue South and laid off its entire local staff, just two years after signing the lease on Music Row. The company cited restructuring efforts to streamline operations as the reason for the cuts, while confirming its platforms operations for U.S. users continue.
The sudden closure terminates a local footprint that TikTok first established in downtown Nashville’s WeWork space back in 2021 before moving into its dedicated midtown location in 2024. According to reporting from Billboard and local coverage by FOX 17 News, all employees working at the Music Row site have lost their jobs as part of a broader corporate realignment.
Corporate Restructuring and the Moore Building Lease Closure
The office space, situated at 827 19th Ave. S. inside the Moore Building, is now empty of TikTok personnel. Representatives for the platform confirmed that the decision was driven by an internal push to reorganize corporate structures for future growth, impacting workers who had settled into the newly leased midtown quarters only two years ago.
“We have decided to close our Nashville office to streamline our operations and better align our teams for long-term growth. We remain fully committed to providing secure, safe and positive experiences for the 200 million Americans that create, discover and connect with what they love on TikTok.”

While the exact number of employees affected by the Nashville shutdown remains undisclosed, the local cuts align with a pattern of reductions across the company’s regional divisions. Previous workforce reductions occurred, when TikTok and its parent company ByteDance eliminated roughly 15 positions across U.S. and Latin American music divisions, affecting programming and partnership teams. Those cuts followed earlier efficiency-driven layoffs in 2023 that trimmed the U.S. artist services team.
Broader Industry Shifts and User Metrics
The physical office closure in Tennessee arrives as the platform maintains a massive audience footprint across the United States. Sprout Social data indicates that TikTok counted 136 million users nationwide in 2025, while corporate statements place the active domestic user base at 200 million individuals engaging with the application.

Music industry observers and local business trackers, including the Nashville Business Journal, noted that the departure from Music Row marks a swift retreat from a regional hub that had initially signaled the company’s deepening roots in Nashville’s creative economy. With the 19th Avenue South office now shuttered, operations previously anchored in the city have been absorbed or dissolved entirely under the ongoing corporate consolidation.
