Title: Bulgaria Welcomes Spring Ahead of Schedule: Warm Spell and Sunny Days Await

Article:

Bulgaria is set to experience unseasonably warm and sunny weather as spring arrives early this year. The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) predicts that the day-night temperature difference will significantly decrease from tonight, leading to a reversal of the weather pattern.

Starting from this evening and continuing into tomorrow morning, Bulgaria will enjoy sunny skies and temperatures exceeding 10°C in many regions, according to the NIMH. During the night and tomorrow, most areas in Western and Central Bulgaria will experience a significant break in cloud cover, with sunny and calm weather prevailing.

However, residents in low-lying areas and valleys may experience reduced visibility and fog in the early morning hours. Eastern Bulgaria will maintain substantial cloud cover, with moderate to strong winds from the north-northwest.

Temperatures will range from -5°C to 0°C across most regions, with colder temperatures expected in parts of Western Bulgaria’s mountainous regions and valleys, reaching down to -8°C to -10°C. In Sofia, the capital, overnight temperatures are predicted to be around -6°C. During the day, temperatures are expected to reach between 2°C and 7°C, with Sofia experiencing highs of around 4°C.

Atmospheric pressure will remain higher than average for this time of year, with no significant changes expected throughout the day.

On the Black Sea coast, expect mostly cloudy skies with occasional light rain in the southernmost areas. Moderate to strong northerly winds are expected, with maximum temperatures ranging between 4°C and 6°C. Sea temperatures will hover around 8°C to 10°C, with wave heights reaching 3-4 meters.

In the mountains, sunny conditions will dominate, though the central and eastern parts of the Balkan Mountains and Strandzha will see more substantial cloud cover. Strong north-northeasterly winds are expected at higher elevations. Maximum temperatures at 1200m will reach around 2°C, while at 2000m, temperatures will be around -4°C.

As the year comes to an end, Bulgarians can look forward to primarily sunny weather, with west-northwesterly winds ranging from mild to moderate. Temperatures are expected to rise rapidly, with highs ranging from 4°C-5°C in the eastern regions to 12°C-13°C in the northwestern areas. While Monday morning may still feel quite chilly, temperatures will start to rise again by Tuesday.
