In a bid to showcase local career opportunities and attract back talent that has sought education elsewhere, "Heim te Helgeland" is set to take place on July 3rd at Sandnessjøen’s Kulturbadet. This event aims to serve as a platform for students and job seekers to explore career prospects in the region, fostering a mutually beneficial network between young professionals and local businesses.
Organized by Sentrum Næringshage, Newton Sandnessjøen, and Alstahaug kommune, the event promises presentations from several local enterprises, followed by speed-dating sessions with employers. Attendees can also look forward to culinary delights and a lively celebration at Gammelkino’n to close the event.
Christian Wiik Kynsveen from Sentrum Næringshage, one of the organizers, expressed the event’s objective: "We want to demonstrate that Helgeland offers not just exciting career opportunities but also a rich quality of life. This is not merely a meeting point but a door opener, facilitating direct interaction between young people and local employers."
The event anticipates the participation of 12 businesses, each eager to inspire young talent to contribute to the region’s growth. "We want to encourage young people to see how they can be part of Helgeland’s positive growth story," Kynsveen noted. "This is a region that looks at what you can bring to the table, but also what we can offer you in return."
