Four Drivers Fined for Drunk Driving in Groningen‘s Christmas Alcohol Controls
Groningen police fined four drivers on the second day of Christmas for driving under the influence of alcohol. The controls, conducted between 20:30 and 03:00 hours at the Turfsingel in the city center, resulted in these drivers facing penalties for their dangerous behavior.
In total, police carried out approximately four hundred controls, indicating a strong commitment to road safety during the festive season. A police spokesperson confirmed the figures, emphasizing the importance of such operations in maintaining public safety.
The previous day, on the first day of Christmas, similar alcohol controls were carried out at the Abraham Kuypersingel in Hoogezand. Unlike the operations in Groningen, no fines were issued during this control.
